- Art within the Latin@ American community
- Important historical events in Latin@ American history
- Important neighborhoods within the Latin@ American community
- Traditions in Latin@ culture
- Importance of food within the Latin@ culture
- The Latin@ LGBTQ experience
Guidelines for Google Presentation & Speech
- You may use notecards to help you remember what is on your slides, or you may print out your slide show IN THE LIBRARY and use that for notes.
- DO NOT read off your slides….we can read….speak to your audience.
- Your speech should be 3-5 minutes in length
- You must share your work with Ms. Piety: [email protected]
- You may work with a partner, but you will be expected to share the responsibilities of the work.

- Where did it take place?
- Why did it take place?
Build Up (1-2+ Slides) :
- Who was involved/ is currently involved in the event?
- Why is the person/activity important?
- What is the history behind the event/or of the person?
What happened (1-2+ Slides) :
- What is the person/did the person do?
- What is one of the key events the group was involved in?
Short Term Impact (1-2+ Slides) :
- What immediate change did the person bring about? (think 1-2 years following a big event they were involved in)
- What immediate change did the event cause? (think 1-2 years following the event)
Long Term Impact (Think about the PRESENT impact) (1-2+ Slides) :
- How has the person continued to impact the communities they serve?
- How has the event continued to impact communities?
- How have people been impacted by the work of the artists, social movement, individual?
- How have others been inspired by the event/people/practice etc.?
